Main Stage

This year’s main stage will combine a variety of performances from youth bands to world music and dance performances. This year there will be a huge headline act for the main stage! Check the NEWS page regularly for updates. We promise you won't be disappointed! This year there will be VJing on the main stage on some massive tv screens - if you fancy being involved email us.

6k Vision Tent

The 6K Vision tent is a unique space completely dedicated to youth music! Bands, soloists, musicians however experienced are given the opportunity to perform throughout the day and into the evening to a lively festival crowd.

Film

The film tent at Festival 07 will be a hive of activity relating to all things film. There will be showcases of film made by young people throughout North Yorkshire and the UK. The tent will don a 60's esque Kitsch theme staffed by young people in full regalia as Ushers and Usherettes serving Popcorn for all! To submit a film send us an email

Drama space

The drama space this year will be a fantastic platform for some of the finest most exciting talents of young people in the county. Building on the success of the previous two years the space will run throughout the day and will host a plethora of diverse performances, some traditional some not so traditional but all worthy of their place up there on the stage.

Dance

The dance space will come alive with the sights and sounds of the County’s top performance dance groups. Highlights include the County Youth Dance Company.

Skate Park

This years skate park combines CYC’s mobile park with The Wheelers permanent park located on the event site. The park will include a quarter pipe, driveway, flat bank, manual box, launches ramps, fly offs, mini ramp, fun box and grind rail.

Workshops

Circus Skills- Explore the origins of the Circus through movement, circles and laughter in this dynamic workshop, try your hand at Chinese ribbons, pedal gos, pogos, unicycles, diablos, devils sticks and juggling.

Willow Sculpture- Work and craft with this pliable material of living and dried willow, bend and mould to create 3D creatures.

Rock- Rock out with professional musicians who will help you to create a funky tune

Plasticine Animation- Take this exciting opportunity to produce your very own short film. Professionals will help you to make, shot and edit your very own technical and exciting creative animation.

Didgeridoo- Fill your lungs and take part in this most diverse of musical workshops. Join in and have a go at the unique Australian instrument; create amazing sounds from another culture.

Hand Drumming- In this workshop you will receive a brief history lesson on drums followed by an exuberant and dynamic crash course on rhythms and beats.

Dance- Delve into the world of dance with this dynamic, floor shaking, hip swinging contempory dance workshop.

Graffiti- Create your own original piece of artwork with the help of two professional Graffiti Artists, experience the modern day version of the oldest art form known to man.

Banners- Let your imagination run riot and your creativity bloom with this exciting, whirlwind workshop.

Samba Drumming- Drumming has been used for centuries to stimulate and inspire, drawing attention and fascination, join some of the best Samba drummers in the UK to explore Brazilian rhythms on authentic samba drums.

Acid Foundry Try your hand at creating your own piece of music no matter what your tastes there is something for everyone, work alongside professional musicians to develop your own unique track.

Photography- Design some weird and wonderful images through digital photography and learn on the latest in photo manipulation software.

Drama How to perform without being an actor, how to learn to be silly in a silly way. Experience the silly art of nonsense and discover what being a performer is really like.

Workshops in DJing, environmental art, computer animation, breakdance an rap will also take place.
